Our Mission
As an educational 501(c)(3), the mission of The Fourth Corner Foundation is to promote restorative relationships. The 4CF offers support, harbor and challenge to help facilitate deep connections between creative souls, meaningful purpose and environmental needs. We offer interested parties inspirational space and programs that explore the arts of creation, restoration, movement, cultivation and collaboration.

Robert Foote Shannon
Architect, Artist
Founder of the foundation in 1995, architect and GC of the buildings and designer of the landscape. BA Yale University cum laude, and M.Arch Yale University, Alpha Rho Chi Medal. He also painted. Bob passed in Febuary 2023. He is greatly missed.

Pole star navigator, 500 year planner, self admitted idealist. Too many hats, including program development, construction, maintence, janitor.

Master Gardener
Robert Shannon's surviving life partner. Established and maintained the foundation gardens for more than 2 decades. Recently moved his focus to the Santa Fe campus, passing the Vermont gardens torch to his daughter Kate.

Former horticulture industry buyer and proud daughter of Steven Fellows. Currently furthering the mission in the Fourth Corner gardens to be sustainable, beneficial and unexpected.

Worked along side of Bob for several years. Crucial in both keeping our current architectural legacy alive as well as taking the helm on new construction projects.

Drawn to a wide variety of materials and techniques, environmental and community arts issues.
